He is the son of established Haida argillite carver Cooper Wilson, and is the brother of Haida artist Donnie Edenshaw. Freddie is inspired by his brother and his father, as well as Haida artists Christian White, Jim Hart, Gwaai Edenshaw, and his uncle, Guujaaw. While Freddie was introduced to argillite carving and Haida art through his family, he plans to branch out into wood, and gold and silver jewellery.
